Original Fonts Extracted from PDF Metadata:

How PDF Font Detection Works
Unlike flat images, PDF documents often carry exact typographic signatures embedded directly inside the file structure. Here is how our client-side engine extracts and identifies fonts from any PDF.
Binary Font Table Extraction
When you drop a PDF, our scanner inspects internal /BaseFont and /FontName dictionaries. It cleans PostScript subset prefixes (like ABCDEF+) to expose the authentic font family names instantly.
Multi-Page Canvas Rendering
Using Mozilla's open-source PDF.js engine, pages are rendered directly inside your browser at crisp 2x retina resolution. You can navigate through multi-page documents and crop exact lines of text without uploading anything to remote servers.
Free Legal Stand-Ins
If a document utilizes an expensive commercial foundry font (such as Helvetica, Proxima Nova, Gotham, or DIN), our system automatically matches and ranks 100% free Google Fonts with identical proportions and stroke contrast.
Digital Vector PDFs vs. Scanned Paper PDFs
✓ Born-Digital PDF Documents
PDFs created directly from software like Microsoft Word, Adobe InDesign, Figma, or Google Docs contain embedded font descriptor tables. The tool reads these font definitions with 100% accuracy, meaning you don't even need to guess the exact family name.
🔍 Scanned & Flattened Documents
If a PDF was generated by a physical desktop scanner or exported with outlined curves, embedded font tables are absent. For these documents, our dual-engine optical OCR and geometric shape classifier measures stroke angles and serifs on the rendered page canvas.
